Flipkart launches marketplace ‘Flipkart Xtra’ to onboard part-time job seekers

Flipkart, backed by retail chain Walmart, and Mintra, which operates under Flipkart, are collaborating together to create 15,000 jobs. Flipkart will create 4,000 jobs and Mintra 11,000 jobs. The move is part of an expansion of activities ahead of the festive season. This will prove to be a golden opportunity for those looking for full-time and part-time jobs. The offer has been announced under the name ‘Flipkart Extra’. The company launched the Play Store app called Flipkart Extra to facilitate job creation during the Covid era. It is through ‘Flipkart Extra’ that candidates need to apply for the job.

After checking the personal and educational information, each person will be given a job in a suitable field. Efforts are being made to expedite the collection and distribution of products during the festival. The company is aiming for new record sales at Flipkart’s Big Billion Days, a festive sale. The Big Fashion Festival, Mintra’s festive offer, is also targeting big sales. Both are trying to impress the users with their offers.

With ‘Flipkart Xtra’ app, the partners have the advantage of signing up from anywhere along with the flexibility of choosing their preferred schedule to deliver shipments. In addition to this, the new platform will also help bolster its supply chain hence ensuring seamless and faster delivery of shipments and services to consumers across India.

The company said it would bring the benefits of the e-commerce sector to retailers, farmers, MSMEs, shops, and consumers across the country. The company also offers an incentive scheme for job seekers through Flipkart Extra. That is, those who perform well will receive higher wages.

At the same time, it is reported that sales offer on online portals may soon be restricted in the country. The e-commerce policy for this is being prepared. This is because the sales offer of the portals is adversely affecting the retailers in the country. Merchants have also come out against sales offer. The government was under a lot of pressure to allow online portals to continue selling freely even when shops were closed during the Covid lockdown.
