Pet food startup, Dogsee Chew announced that it raised $7 million in its pre-series A round of funding led by Sixth Sense Ventures.
The capital thus injected would be utilized to expand the company’s footprint in the Indian pet market and other developed markets as well as to accelerate new products development and manufacturing.
The CEO of Sixth Sense Ventures, Nikhil Vora commented about the capital infusion stating, “Globally, petfoods is much larger than most FMCG categories like oral care and baby foods. The Indian pet food market is at a nascent stage as compared to global markets, with a potential to be 10X of its current size. Dogsee has picked a clear white space with its natural (veg) chews and pet treats as a natural replacement for hide-based chews. We like Dogsee’s approach of establishing its presence in the developed markets while tapping into the India opportunity.”

Initiated by the husband-wife duo, Bhupendra Khanal and Sneh Sharma, Dogsee Chew is a Bengaluru based startup that produces 100% vegetarian hard cheese dog chews. The company has a vision to revolutionize the pet market by offering affordable and healthy food alternatives for all pets. The brand is present across 5,000+ retail outlets across 30 countries and has a sales volume of 100 tonnes per month.
