Infosys unveils Equinox, a digital commerce platform


Infosys unveiled its ‘Equinox’ suite of solutions to help enterprises transform their online and in-store functions and deliver personalized omnichannel commerce experiences for B2B and B2C buyers. Equinox, which is an evolution of Infosys’ 2015 acquisition of Skava Commerce, is designed to offer API-first, microservices, and cloud tie-ins as well as personalized commerce journeys. The Infosys Equinox team is led by Amit Kalley.
Infosys Equinox offers social, chat, voice, and augmented reality commerce channels in multiple languages and currencies with localized features. It also includes the ability to run on any cloud using open-source technologies and an approach that scales to business-to-business and business-to-consumer models and an integrated ecosystem that covers experiences to operations.
It allows enterprises to choose out-of-the-box microservices and pre-built experiences to build their digital journeys through its commerce-as-a-service model. It aims to assist businesses in their digital commerce transformation through four separate offerings: Infosys Equinox Microservices, Infosys Equinox Commerce, Infosys Equinox Experiences, and Infosys Equinox Marketing.

It will embrace a human-centric approach to create distinctive shopping experiences that match the pulse of consumers. Equinox connects to existing customers of enterprise e-commerce systems such as Salesforce Sales Cloud, down to small and midmarket ones like Shopify to open new selling channels. But for Infosys customers launching new e-commerce sites, Infosys theoretically will compete with those other e-commerce technology vendors during the platform selection process.
Equinox’s target industries include retail, CPG, telecom, automotive, manufacturing, and media streaming.

“With the rapid shifts in consumer behaviour and eCommerce industry dynamics, especially accentuated post-pandemic, enterprises need a commerce platform that achieves the perfect balance between agility and adaptability – and Infosys Equinox provides that,” Infosys Executive Vice President and Global Head Consumer (Retail and Logistics) Karmesh Vaswani said.
