Filo raises $23M in Series A round led by Anthos Capital


Filo, an instant live tutoring startup raised a funding of about $23 million in Series A. Reportedly the largest Series A round in the Indian edtech space was led by Anthos Capital. An existing investor- Better Capital along with GSV, Sapling Capital, also participated in the round. 

Participation of a host of well-known individual investors included Gokul Rajaram, Rob Frohwein (Co-founder, Kabbage), Mate Pencz and Florian Hagenbuch (Founders, Loft), and Ross Lipson (Co-founder, Dutchie). As it goes deeper into modelling pedagogy at scale, expanding the team, tapping new categories, and scaling its tutor base across the country, the funding has been decided to be used for product development.

Filo has grown to more than 1.5 million downloads and more than 350,000 monthly active users in almost a year, Along with this It also has overwhelming student reviews. In more than 15 countries the 24X7 live platform has been present. It also has over 40,000+ tutors on the platform, which is by far the largest pool of tutors in the world.
